Duties
This position serves as an Attorney-Advisor (EEO), in the Office of the Director (OD), Office of Equal Employment Opportunity (OEEO), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Department of Justice (DOJ). The attorney is assigned to the Office of Equal Employment Opportunity with the primary responsibility for providing legal interpretation of EEO policies, procedures and guidelines, and discrimination complaints analysis, processing and reporting per established federal regulations and Departmental EEO policy, and to perform or participate in the formulation and coordination of EEO policy, methods, and procedures.
Qualifications
To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must have at least five years of specialized experience as a practicing attorney.
Specialized Experience is experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Knowledge of Title 29 and Title 5 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Title VII and related administrative laws, and the firearms and explosives laws administered and enforced by the Bureau.
Experience serving as a legal advisor on a wide variety of matters related to labor and employment law, to include the EEOC Management Directives, Uniform Services Employment and Reemployment (USERRA) Act, Rehabilitation Act, Equal Pay Act, Privacy Act, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Genetic Information Non-Discrimination (GINA) Act, Executive Orders related to rulemaking and the issuance of guidance documents.
Superior analytical, research, writing, and communication skills.
To qualify at the GS-15 level, applicants must have experience six years as a practicing attorney.

Education
