Duties

Serve as an Information Systems Security Officer, and alternative Information Systems Security Manager to implement and review the organization’s information security program in order to protect information and prevent unauthorized access. Develop technical guidance and Courses of Action to mitigate current and future threats. Conduct risk/vulnerability assessments of planned or installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities and threats by evaluating how they impact system capabilities in order to identify protection needs. Manage the administration duties of secure tokens for both the unclassified and classified networks in accordance with applicable policies and regulations.

Requirements

• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 10% of the time.
• Must obtain and maintain the appropriate baseline certification/recertification within six months of being assigned as outlined in DoD Publication 8570.01M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program.
• Must obtain and maintain the appropriate computing environment certification IAW DoD 8570.1M within six months of being assigned.
• This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
