You will serve as a SUPPLY MANAGEMENT OFFICER in the NAVY SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

Duties

You will be responsible for the planning, directing, coordinating, managing, and reviewing of all actions as they pertain to supply program management, supply operations, and property management. You will provide program oversight to assure timely operational support and integration of new logistical or changing supply management concepts and develops methods and techniques required for program execution of property. You will oversee a wide variety of supply system functions including related systems where multifunctional systems are affected to ensure continued supply support throughout the program. You will review overall operations to determine operational problems and to determine and implement changes necessary to meet long-range objectives for management and accountability of property. You will develop and institute techniques, methods, and innovations to increase or improve effectiveness of programs and systems. You will oversee the operations, functions and transactions pertaining to the receipt, classification, inventory, issue and disposition of all classes of supply.

  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the excepted service which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes duties related to the following: 1) Overseeing a wide variety of supply system functions to ensure continued supply support throughout the program. 2) Reviewing property management and accountability for technical adequacy, consistency and compliance with policies, procedures, directives, etc. to ensure progress toward goals, meeting of milestones, optimum data conditions, operations situations for forecasting, planning, and funding programs. 3) Ensuring consistent, efficient, effective mission execution, promulgation and optimization of the organization supply chain policies and procedures.
