The Transportation Assistant - Coordinator located in the Veterans Transportation Service (VTS) serves the Veterans Healthcare System of the Ozarks, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN), Veterans Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs, Fayetteville, AR.

Duties

***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Duties include but may not be limited to the following: Scheduling, Data Collection & Tracking Support: Performs work involving consult management, appointment scheduling and admissions scheduling. Collects, compiles, and tracks data and statistical information in support of Veteran Transportation Service (VTS). Performs a basic analysis of the data and generates a variety of reports; evaluates documents, e.g., sampling plans, permit applications and other data collection forms. Reviews documents, reports and/or applications for omissions and inconsistencies and ensures data entry is complete and accurate. Enters pertinent information into an automated tracking system. Receives Decision Support System (DSS) extracts to verify that the workload being captured in DSS is correct. Maintains automated system of program-specific data to track items such as service project milestones, progress reports, program trends, performance measures and compliance strategies. Performance Measures Support: Coordinates service practices that decrease waits and delays for patients in all specialty areas. Plans consult processing flow to ensure veterans receive consultation services in a timely manner. Utilizes the Veterans Health Information System & Technological Architecture (VISTA), Computerized Patient Record Systems (CPRS) or SharePoint Consult/Request Tracking System in processing internal consultations. Administers quality monitors to be utilized in the internal consultation process to measure the success of efforts to provide seamless care and to support the education of staff in the proper use of the electronic record, to include internal consultation processes. Coordination, Program Planning and Advisory: Plans for, organizes, administers, and directs how the work will be accomplished for the VTS program. Plans and directs programs that provide support services functions and require the application of specialized knowledge and skills. Provides planning, consideration of support services e.g., systems management, operations, workload forecasting, review, and reporting of data/statistical results of program/project studies, vehicle maintenance and repair. Reviews workload types in VTS e.g., outpatient clinic visits, surgical admissions. Validates program workload and ensure reporting is accurate. Plans and provides support services in the following types of program areas: electronic records management; driver scheduling setup & management; space utilization services. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 4:30pm TELEWORK: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. This position may be authorized for telework. Telework Teleworkeligibility will be discussed during the interview process. ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY: In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), No person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English. You must be proficient in basic written and spoken English in order to meet the requirements of this position. and SPECIALIZED EXPEREINCE GS-6: Having one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) needed to successfully perform the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-5 level in Federal service. Qualifying specialized experience includes performing transportation support duties such as coordinating connections/scheduling, documenting travel information; collecting, compiling, and tracking data on a daily basis; Performs a basic analysis of data and generates a variety of reports; entering data into automated tracking data bases; and planning and directing a program that provides support services. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position: Computer SkillsConflict ManagementCustomer ServiceOral Communication IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Requirements: The Transportation Assistant - Coordinator will be exposed to stressful working situations that require a professional attitude and collective reasoning. Subject to a high volume of work, the need for accuracy, frequency of interruptions and ever-changing demands due to program changes.
