You will serve as a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (OA) in the MAT, SCI, AND COMPNT TECH DIRECTORATE of NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY.

Duties

You will provide technical and administrative support for automated systems and equipment used by branch personnel for material control functions, including shipping, receiving, inspecting, tracking, and delivering material. You will troubleshoot technical problems with all branch hand-held terminals (HHT) and barcode printers, which are used to track material from receipt to delivery to NRL divisions. You will analyze receiving, inspection, and delivery information received in diverse situations and use your resourcefulness and supply knowledge to find procurement information for material. You will coordinate supply needs with the administrative office purchase card buyer, and maintain inventory of equipment. You will serve as a point of contact for the branch safety and health program. You will manage filing systems for documentation.

  • This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.
  • You will be required to lift items up to 15 lbs in weight.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-01/04 grade level or pay band (NC-01) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Providing technical support by requisitioning supplies and materials or equipment for a department; (2) Utilizing automated supply systems to input information and generate reports; (3) Researching and interpreting supply rules and regulations to analyze facts, draw conclusions and devise solutions to problems; and (4) Communicating orally and in writing with all levels of personnel. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
  • Successfully completed four years of education above high school level
OR
  • A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
