This position serves as an Administrative Specialist, located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), National Security Division (NSD). The mission of the NSD is to carry out the Department's highest priority: protect the United States from threats to our national security by pursuing justice through the law. The National Security Cyber Section leads DOJ's efforts to investigate, prosecute, and otherwise disrupt malicious cyber-enabled activities that affect national security.

This Administrative Specialist position serves as the principal advisor to NSD NatSec Cyber on all administrative management matters associated with programs and operations. You will develop and advise on administrative requirements for a complex organization as well as actively participate in developing and implementing administrative management policies.
The duties of this Administrative Specialist position include but are not limited to:
Advise on administrative requirements for a complex organization, including scheduling of activities and meetings in furtherance of section operations, management, and administration.
Actively participate in developing and implementing administrative management policies.
Perform human resources management liaison and advisory services, including those relating to travel, for an organization with human resources issues of a complex or specialized nature.
Manage the production of sensitive documents to external oversight components, including Congressional committees and the Department's Inspector General.
Coordinate special requirements for hard-to-find supplies or services that are difficult to obtain or require complex negotiations, or office moves that require extensive coordination.
Ensure that administrative needs are taken care of for operational services such as water, electricity, and telecommunications and audiovisual equipment operation.
Follow guidelines and procedures to develop communications plans in support of an organizational program; review them for impact and effectiveness.
Coordinate the development and release of information in substantive program areas, such as press releases, fact sheets, newsletters, or other briefing materials.
Assist with the development, maintenance, and operational access of various administrative databases and spreadsheets used for analyses and decision making by all levels of management.
Assist with developing policies and procedures regarding the tracking of case records and other types of data.
Liaise with the Division's Records Officer concerning records requests made under FOIA, to include identifying potentially responsive documents and verifying the accuracy of responses to the requestor.
Plan and coordinate administrative aspects of office moves, office construction, and other facility improvements that require extensive coordination of property, services, and facilities, such as furniture, equipment, telephones, wide short-term storage.
Requirements
- You must be a United States Citizen or National.
- You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening.
- You may be required to complete a one-year probationary or two-year trial period.

Qualifications
To qualify for the position of Administrative Specialist at (GS-0301-12), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade you're applying to.
If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF50 (please refer to the "required documents" section for additional information).
To qualify for the GS-12 - Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector managing administrative processes or workflow of the office in support of organizational operations.
