About the Position: The person in this position will serve as the Scheduling Coordinator, Receptionist, Template Manager, Appointments Coordinator, and Managed Medical Care Consultant. Compiles routine and special reports, patients' medical records, appointing data, and health care options for beneficiaries to be utilized by senior management to improve efficiency and the effectiveness of clinical performance.

Duties
Order office supplies before depletion and collaborate consistently with maintenance POCs.
Perform various clerical, record keeping, and miscellaneous duties required for the proper and timely care of patients.
Enter medical data into automated healthcare systems such as Genesis.
Oversee and follow up on tests ordered and patient referrals to confirm that the results are received, recorded, and properly filed and maintained in accordance with standard quality assurance procedures.
Utilize an in-depth knowledge of the mission and functions of the clinic to prepare reports based upon the requirements specified and the intended use of the data or report.
Read and interpret the referring consults doctors' notes in order to select and schedule with the appropriate provider.
Adjust times of appointments based on changes in provider's schedule and/or shift patients to other clinic providers in case of unexpected absence.
Manage and carry out front desk assignments to ensure smooth operation of clinical services.

- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes receiving patients and/or visitors in a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) or clinic setting; scheduling patient appointments and/or coordinating patient referral appointments; maintaining patient records; inputting medical data and/or preparing a variety of reports utilizing automated healthcare systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
