This position is located in Management Directorate, Office of Human Capital & Training, Talent Acquisition Stakeholder, Human Resources Operations Center - HROC. As an Operations Support Specialist, you will support the needs of HROC by assisting leadership with administrative, HR, and operational needs.

Duties

The responsibilities described are for the full performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity. Provide a variety of management services essential to the direction and operation of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Update asset management systems. Perform required inventories within established schedules and policies. Advise management concerning operational needs and make recommendations on changes in work methods and procedures. Assist in preparing requisitions for purchasing goods and services and tracking of financial data related to operational activities including general expenses. Collect data for budget requests and expenditure analyses. Support the human resources function by providing comprehensive human resources support to the organization. Prepare correspondence, preparation and submission of forms for operational needs. Assist in the maintenance of all accountable property and information technology assets within assigned geographical areas of responsibility. Support training and administrative activities by providing operational assistance with classroom/conference room set-up, event coordination, and communication.

Qualifications

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 11/13/2023. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 11/13/2023 GS-09: You qualify at the GS-09 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Responding to questions concerning administrative procedures, requirements, and administrative problems; Creating and/or maintaining systems that track activities within a designated program; Identifying administrative problems, and providing advice to staff on established methods and procedures; Reviewing and analyzing information related to workflow, office procedures and control systems in support of program evaluations; OR You may substitute a Master's degree or 2 full years of graduate education leading to such a degree in any field or a J.D. or L.L.B. degree for experience required at the GS-09 grade level. Such education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Check with your school to determine how many credit hours comprise two years of graduate education. If that information is not available, use 36 semester or 54 quarter hours. GS-11: In addition to the requirements at the lower grade level(s), you qualify at the GS-11 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Managing and monitoring a variety of administrative projects (e.g., budget, personnel, travel, space and logistics); Implementing solutions to a wide range of administrative problems; Preparing preliminary and finished reports and documents and representing the office in dealings with vendors and personnel from administrative support organizations; OR You may substitute a doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent degree), or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in any field, or L.L.M. (if related for experience) at the GS-11 grade level. Such education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Check with your school to determine how many credit hours comprise three years of graduate study. If that information is not available, use 54 semester or 81 quarter hours.
