Duties
As a Housing Program Policy Specialist, you will:
Monitor and evaluate agency operations to insure that policies and standards are maintained, up-to-date, and ensure compliance with respective guidance and procedures.
Resolve many types of program policy issues involving single family mortgages and appraisal/valuation requirements presented by field staff, lending institutions, and other housing interests.
Collect, review, and analyze a variety of data including statistical information.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-14 grade level is one year of experience at the GS-13 grade level, or equivalent, which is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience in ALL of the following:
Underwriting FHA single family mortgages; AND
Communicating and developing or directing the development of new or revised credit policies, procedures, standards, guidance, or training for government-insured, guaranteed, or conventional single family home mortgage programs; AND
Interpreting, implementing, and providing technical guidance and responses on HUD policies, regulations, and procedures governing single family home mortgage programs.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14 you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
