About the Position: This IT Specialist position is with the U.S. Army Communication Electronics Command (CECOM) Info Systems Engineering Command, Mission Support Directorate S6.

Duties

Serves as an Information Technology (IT) Subject matter expert with duties to provide direct customer service integration support for the Information Systems Engineering (ISEC) SharePoint Portal design. Serves as a SharePoint Systems Developer for ISEC, providing multi-site support in the specialty area of web-based application programming, analysis, and problem resolution. Designs, modifies, and integrates Department of the Army (DA), Army Materiel Command (AMC) and Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) unique forms into the ISEC portal workflows. Oversee and manage the full life-cycle software development to include conceptual analysis, requirements analysis, design, implementation, deployment, documentation and maintenance of various web sites Accomplishes detailed information processing including: ensuring optimal performance of .NET, Visual Basic, ASP, C++/C#, and JavaScript code deployed on the IIS servers. Recommends Web-based application/SharePoint development to satisfy customer requirements by utilizing formalized life-cycle design methodologies.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Position requires Temporary duty (TDY) travel of up to 20% of the time within and outside of the Continental United States (CONUS).
  • Medical examination may be required prior to travel to overseas locations.
  • Incumbent will be required to meet position requirements for Certification at Practitioner in the Engineering and Technology Management functional area within 60 months of entrance on the job.

Basic Requirements IT Specialist GS-2210-12 IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below, based on the grade-level required, at this position being filled. (3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. (4). Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND Specialized Experience- One year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent pay band level in the Federal Service which includes work that involves: 1) Managing the full life-cycle software development to include design, implementation, deployment, and maintenance of web sites; (2) Troubleshooting database and application failures; AND (3) Serving as a SharePoint Systems Developer. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Database AdministrationInformation Systems/Network SecurityTechnical CompetenceWeb Technology Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
