The incumbent serves as the Patient Care Services Administrative Officer. Patient Care Services is a complex service comprised of seventeen sections all with varying administrative support/ analysis needs. This position will be responsible for assisting the Executive Assistant and the Deputy, Associate Director of Patient Care Services (ADPCS) with a wide array of administrative and analytical tasks of various complexity.
Duties
Duties include but are not limited to:
Manages schedules at multiple levels within the organization.
Collaborates with the multiple disciplines of staff to prepare education, training, and support materials to promote compliance and understanding.
Recommends changes in administrative policies.
Uses a variety of computer applications (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Analyzes problem areas and recommends adjustments to improve existing policy or procedure to achieve desired results.
Processes all employee proficiencies and collaborates with leadership to ensure timely submission of proficiencies and appraisals.
Communicates regularly with national, network and facility staff on resource requirements, budget issues, and other strategic issues.
Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm (Tours may vary to include weekends/holidays)

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 11/17/2023.
Time-in-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. For a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
To qualify at the GS-7 grade, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level or higher and/or meet educational requirements or a combination of specialized experience and education.
Specialized Experience:
Create reports, coordinate and schedule meetings, and submit requests/work orders using a personal computer and office automation programs (such as word processing, spreadsheets, etc.).
Prepare timecards for submission and processing.
Perform various human resources/personnel management duties related to recruitment, disciplinary actions, and/or awards.
OR
Education: Substitution of 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement (transcripts required).
OR
Combination of Specialized Experience and Education: Combination of specialized experience as described above and graduate education as described above which totals at least one year.
To qualify at the GS-9 grade, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level or higher and/or meet educational requirements or a combination of specialized experience and education.
Specialized Experience:
Create reports, coordinate and schedule meetings, and submit requests/work orders using a personal computer and office automation programs (such as word processing, spreadsheets, etc.).
Prepare timecards for submission and processing.
Manage and balance financial aspects of general fund control points and purchase procedures.
Perform various human resources/personnel management duties related to recruitment, disciplinary actions, and/or awards.
OR
Education: Substitution of a master's or equivalent graduate degree, or a 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D., if related (transcripts required).
OR
Combination of Specialized Experience and Education: Combination of specialized experience as described above, and graduate education as described above which totals in excess of one year.

Physical Requirements: The work is mostly sedentary, although there is some walking, bending, and lifting. It is sometimes necessary to work at the computer for extended periods of time. The position requires the ability to concentrate with frequent interruptions.
