This position, located at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS) Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service (PMRS), is responsible for analyzing information and developing strategies for the complex office of the Chief (OC) group practice clinic oversight and maintenance of an efficient, productive, and high quality practice through effective hiring, scheduling, grid management, scheduling staff supervision and maintenance of organized peer review and credentialing process.
Duties

Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for providing complex data organization and analysis in all programs of PMRS to assure the Office of Chief can enforce and execute service mission, functions, projects, fiscal responsibilities, and activities in a data driven, Veteran Centric manner.
Reflects the policies, philosophies, and judgments set by the ACOS and Rehabilitation Line Leader. a direct and substantial effect on the operation of PM&RS and throughout the Medical Center.
Performs specialized tasks such as response to congressionals, inquiries, narcotic inspections, scheduling audits, and other miscellaneous investigations, etc.
Assures recruitment and retention are maintained within approved ceilings, position classifications are accurate, REC preparations for new positions and duties are complete and accurate.
Administers performance plans to supervisees and facilitate the OC with audit measurement tools relating to performance, recruitment and credentialing, FPPE/OPPE Physician practice, privileging files, performance standards, and disciplinary actions.
Performs data analysis, data validation, program analysis, and for the development of management information systems.
Serves as supervisor and oversees and monitors existing or emerging workflow issues.
Reviews and evaluates local processes and procedures to determine areas of effectiveness, efficiency, and improvement.
Oversees a large clinical scheduling practice including adherence to the VHA Scheduling Directives, bookability, clinical utilization and statistical summaries, (CUSS) and grid management for highest access
Other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must meet the following requirement:
GS-11 Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-09) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Performing all administrative needs (budget, staffing, HR, training, etc.); direct supervision, overseeing and monitoring clinical consult and scheduling management issues in multidisciplinary large practice group and providing guidance to staff; making oral presentations and preparing written reports; developing conclusions, recommendations, and actions based on objective analyses and evaluation; Interacting effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds and educational levels; working with qualitative and quantitative techniques for analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of an administrative program; experience in using automated systems to include office automated system (such as word processing, spreadsheet, Microsoft teams, timekeeping, purchasing etc.,) and electronic medical record scheduling system. Note: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hour worked per week.

Physical Requirements: The work involves a normal amount of standing, walking, crouching and occasional carrying 10-20 pounds for a short distance. This position coordinates projects at CAVHS and requested VISN 16 and CAVHS CBOCS and may work on occasion at these off-site locations. The work requires keen and sustained attention span and stress management over duty hours. There is frequent use of a computer, keyboard and display terminal.
