You will serve as a POLICE OFFICER (INSTRUCTOR) in the SECURITY DEPARTMENT of SUBASE KINGS BAY SEC DET.

Duties

You will develop law enforcement approaches and methods of instruction to verify the curriculum meets course objectives. You will serve as a firearms range control officer in the operation of a range program for a Practical Weapons Course (PWC) or Firearms Training System (FATS). You will propose career development plans (e.g., training requests, utilization proposals) to enhance career of law enforcement employees. You will coordinate with other federal law enforcement instructors to develop different approaches and methods of instruction. You will facilitate classroom studies for law enforcement personnel using instruction techniques or formats (e.g., role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, lectures).

• This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
• This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.

• This is a bargaining unit position.

• You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.

• You must either currently possess or be able to obtain certification as EVOC Instructor, Non-Lethal Weapons Instructor, Small Arms Marksmanship Instructor/Range Safety Officer, Radar Speed Measuring Instructor, and/or CPR Instructor.
• Must either have graduated form or be able to attend and graduate form the Navy Instructor training course (NITC).
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
