The position is located in the Division of Administration, Human Resources Branch of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of recruitment, staffing, pay setting, payroll and personnel action processing.  There are 2 positions to be filled in either Braintree, MA, Chicago, IL, Dallas, TX, or Washington, DC.   Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill identical vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. CG-07: Applicants may qualify at the CG-07 level by one of the following:  Experience – Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 5 level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is experience providing advice and guidance to employees on issues related to recruitment, staffing, and processing personnel actions; and experience with assisting with automated systems to process personnel actions, and gather and compile data for various tracking and status reports.  -OR- Education: Education may be substituted for experience in qualifying for this position. If qualifying based on education, applicant must possess one (1) full year of graduate level education. - OR - Superior Academic Achievement: Applicants qualifying under S.A.A. must have completed (or expect to complete within 30 days from the closing date of the announcement) all the requirements for a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.  S.A.A. is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership. Class standing -- Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses. Grade-point average (G.P.A.)-- Applicants must have a grade-point average of: 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum. Grade-point averages are to be rounded to one decimal place. For example, 2.95 will round to 3.0 and 2.94 will round to 2.9. Membership in a national scholastic honor society recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies. CG-09: Applicants may qualify at the CG-09 level by one of the following:  Experience – Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 7 level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is experience providing technical advice, guidance, and consultation to managers, supervisors, and employees on routine issues related to recruitment, staffing, processing personnel actions, and experience using automated HR systems to prepare vacancy announcements, process personnel actions, and gather and compile data for various tracking and status reports. -OR- Education: Applicants must possess a master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B. or J.D., if related. - OR - OR  YOU MAY QUALIFY FOR THE GS-7 or CG-9 BASED ON A COMBINATIN OF EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: A combination of graduate level education and specialized experience as described above that together meet the qualification requirements for this position.  The total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the specialized experience requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the educational requirement must equal at least 100 percent.
