This position is located at the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania performing a variety of clerical and administrative support duties for the office.
Duties

Receives visitors and telephone calls to the office and routes accordingly;
Manages a calendar to include scheduling appointments, coordinating conferences and meetings;
Prepares meeting minutes/agendas;
Manages and prepares a range of correspondence, including memorandums, meeting minutes, reports, and other correspondence, as needed;
Compiles information to generate various reports;
Reviews and prepares all congressional correspondence received for necessary action;
Routes documents for approval and tracks to completion for the supervisor;
Prepares travel arrangements for staff;
Utilizes a range of office automation software and systems;
Performs timekeeping duties;
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must meet the following requirement:
Specialized Experience: At least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-5) in the Federal Service, that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this Secretary position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. Specialized experience includes receiving visitors and telephone calls to the office; scheduling appointments; managing a calendar; preparing various correspondence, reports, and other forms of written communication; assisting with preparing travel arrangements; utilizing various computer applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.; and maintaining files. NOTE: Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must clearly indicate the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
Typing Proficiency: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
