About the Position: This position is located at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital.
Duties
Greet and schedule patient's appointments for the department.
Track and order supplies for the office and clinic.
Receive telephone calls and visitors in the assigned work area; ascertaining the nature of the call and directing to the appropriate personnel.
Assist customers/patrons with their concerns regarding hospital and clinic services, access and staff.
Utilize the Defense Travel System (DTS) to make travel arrangements for the personnel in the assigned work area and submits their travel vouchers.
Process and maintain records relating to government travel charge card for the department.
Maintain a follow-up suspense system to stay abreast of status or completion of actions.
Utilize healthcare systems to enter and retrieve data.
Utilize office automation software to create a variety of correspondence and reports for the department and senior leadership.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

GS-07: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes working in an administrative setting; arranging meetings/conferences; interacting with customers/staff over the phone and in person; and utilizing automated healthcare systems to generate a variety of correspondence and reports and/or update data. GS-06: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) utilizing automated systems to input, query, and/or retrieve administrative, program, and/or financial data; 2) assisting with providing guidance to personnel on matters pertaining to an organization's administrative functions; and 3) assisting in scheduling or coordinating events for an organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
