About the Position: This position is with the United States Army Reserve Command, Army Reserve G-1, Adjutant General Division , Record Management and Publications Branch, located at Fort Liberty, North Carolina.
Duties
Serve as the principal action officer for the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act (PA) programs.
Review and approve information intended for release to the public.
Determine and develop plans, training requirements, and other processes necessary to provide administration of the FOIA and PA programs for the organization and subordinate commands.
Implement and interpret policies and programs required by law for public access of information.
Analyze and evaluate all FOIA and PA requests for Army Reserve records to determine legislative applicability to requests received.
Prepare responses for FOIA and PA requests to the public.
Assist internal United States Army Reserve directorates to develop Systems of Records Notices (SORN's), Privacy Act Statements (PAS's), and Statements of Purpose (SP's) for documentation of data.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and the Privacy Act for the military higher headquarters and determining the appropriate responsive information; managing procedural issues, legal interpretations of decisions, security and privacy concerns; reviewing statutory guidance and policy and the implications; conducting training for personnel; and utilizing and managing information systems to review reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
