These positions are in the Public Safety Officers' Benefits (PSOB) Office and supervises the processing of PSOB death, disability and education claims.

Requirements

Additional information on the qualification requirements is outlined in the OPM Qualification Standards Handbook of General Schedule Positions and is available at OPM's website: https://www.opm.gov/qualifications/standards/indexes/num-ndx.aspAll qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.MINIMUM FEDERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:Qualifying experience for the GS-14 level includes one year of specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-13 level which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience include: planned and prepared reports or other documents related to PSOB death, disability or education program issues for new, substantive agency programs; devised new analytical techniques to evaluate findings, such as establishing criteria to identify and measure PSOB death, disability or education program accomplishments; prepared policy papers, reports, or other documents related to complex PSOB death, disability or education program issues; devised new analytical techniques to evaluate PSOB death, disability or education findings which impacted policy development or performed complex analyses or investigations related to PSOB death disability or education benefits claims.TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications as described above will be further evaluated based upon the following technical qualifications:--Ability to meet and deal with others in performing supervisory or leader work.--Ability to provide PSOB death, disability or education program management advice and assistance.--Knowledge of the mission, structure, programs, and responsibilities of a wide range of public safety agencies, including law enforcement, firefighters, and other responders.--Ability to analyze and prepare PSOB death, disability or education claims and organizational and operational benefits administration and claims processing and techniques for program evaluations.
