About the Position: Serves as a Training Specialist for one or more face-to-face or distributed learning (DL) lessons or modules. Analyzes, designs, develops, and evaluates resident and non-resident Professional Military Education courses for instruction using in-person, online, or blended learning instructional modalities. Provide subject matter expertise for the content of the material and the processes used to develop and deliver ADP training support products.
Duties
As a Training Specialist, you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list:
Analyze, design, develop, and evaluate training support products.
Perform liaison and interacts with faculty of TRADOC and non-TRADOC branch schools, colleges, and universities.
Review Programs of Instruction, and other training documents to identify and verify the training of approved Critical Learning Requirements in schools and centers.
Monitor TRADOC Common Core task lists to ensure that they include Curriculum Development Branch Common Critical Tasks and that the tasks are current, relevant., etc and complimentary between PME systems.
Identify and evaluate requirements for specific military competencies.
Design courses to provide instructions, e.g., Distributed Learning techniques such as (Video Tele-training; other emerging technologies such as Blackboard, CollabWorx, Adobe Connect, and Centra).
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a successful background investigation throughout the duration of employment.
- Temporary Duty (TDY), approximately 10% of the time.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Work which includes work demonstrating a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc. for programs of instruction in an adult education program, college, or military installation; evaluating learning products using web-based tools, such as Training Development Capability (TDC), to assess the adequacy of the product, need for revisions, and/or recommendations for improvement; and conducting validity and reliability studies to analyze test items.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
