The incumbent serves as a Program Support Assistant in the Neurology Service Line and Reports Directly to the Chief of Neurology or the Administrative Officer of the Service line. The incumbent also provides administrative support for the other members of the Neurology Service Line. The purpose of this position is to provide a wide variety of clerical and administrative support duties in support of the overall administrative functions of the office.
Duties
Analyzes and evaluates clinical and administrative processes related to information flow and productivity.
Prepares, executes and/or tracks program specific information.
Analyzes current and projected processes and programs for actual or potential effectiveness in achieving their intended objectives.
Assess the need for data, collects and analyzes data, and develops a wide variety of spreadsheets using multiple computer software programs.
Enforces adherence to applicable regulations and instructions regarding access to and release of computerized files, Personal Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 7:30am-4:00pm
Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. This position may be authorized for Ad-hoc telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 11/08/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Broad knowledge of healthcare data systems, Electronic Health Records (EHR) and principles relating to these areas. Skilled in written and verbal communications. Ability to utilize MS Office Suite to develop and edit spreadsheets, documents, and presentations to graphically display data. Extensive knowledge of the requirements including knowledge of VISTA, CPRS and computer software MS Office for patient and clinical information reporting which include systems to execute several office automation functions such as storing and retrieving electronic documents and files. Solid foundation of administrative concepts, principles and practices sufficient to independently perform the duties involving a variety of organizational matters. (This experience must be supported by your resume to be creditable.)
