This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), Public Safety Officers' Benefits Office (PSOB). As a Program Specialist, you will serve as a Benefits Specialist with primary responsibility for the outreach, follow up and administration of PSOB death, disability and education claims.

Examples of specialized experience include: experience working on special projects with program issues that contained complicating elements requiring the adaptation of analytical techniques and evaluation criteria for the measurement and improvement of a death, disability or education benefits program; researched and drafted death, disability or education benefit policy resources; informed others on complex policy issues or problems that impacted complex death, disability or education benefits projects and programs; or researched/analyzed uncommon death, disability or education benefits.TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications as described above will be further evaluated based upon the following technical qualifications:Ability to identify program issues regarding death, disability or education benefits or claim programs.Ability to analyze organizational and operational problems and develop solutions.Ability to plan and execute work related to death, disability or education benefits programs.Ability to communicate in writing related to death, disability or education benefits programs.Knowledge of death, disability or education benefits program management principles, concepts, and methods.Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing related to death, disability or education benefits programs.
