Vacancies will be filled in the following specialty areas:
Wage and Investment Customer Assistance, Relationship Distribution, Knowledge Services Branch, Alternative Media Center
The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position.
Operates a full range of electronic printing systems to produce a variety of documents and other Internal Revenue Service (IRS) materials.
Selects appropriate electronic systems to complete a job according to specifications, in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
Identifies and analyzes problem areas that impact the efficiency of the work performed and suggests resolutions and corrections to the problem area.
Interprets system diagnostics and other messages for setup, trouble shooting and correction of system problems.
Performs daily and weekly maintenance functions in accordance with operating manuals, manufacturer recommendations, and established procedures.
Qualifications
Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prorated basis. You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-07: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience with the setup, operation, adjustments and system messages of electronic printing systems to perform preventive maintenance and to take corrective actions when error conditions occur; Experience in record keeping requirements to automatically and manually record production units for reporting and billing purposes; Experience in applying rules, regulations, guidelines and procedures relating to the production of materials using electronic systems or Braille materials using Braille printing and binding systems.
