You will serve as Site Leader in the Material Readiness Department of Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Logistics Center, Keyport Division, Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Mechanicsburg Pennsylvania (NAVSEALOGCENKYPTDIVNUWC MECH PA) located in Newport, RI.

Duties

You will identify gaps in organizational capabilities and translate those gaps to executable training and developmental opportunities for the workforce. You will coordinate efforts to organize, set priorities, develop schedules, assign resources and tasks, review work and monitor and report status, assuring compliance with governing regulations, policy, and procedures. You will interpret and provide technical guidance in the application of supply warehouse management, policies, and operational guidance regarding methods, procedures, and best practices. You will monitor changes in customer requirements and logistics support delivery systems to test new approaches and tools. You will apply theory and available technology to mitigate risk and improve performance.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 pay band (GS-11/12 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning and implementing effective and affordable product support of Operating Materials and Supplies (OM&S) throughout the material lifecycle, from procurement through disposition. Examples of Qualifying Experience may include developing outcome-based product support strategies that optimize system readiness and affordability by planning, resourcing, and executing the highest- level of material management support; demonstrated experience in overseeing receipt, storage, inventory, quality control, issue, distribution and transportation of all associated materials; identifying and resolving warehouse problems/issues; using supply databases; maintaining and managing inventories; assessing operations and conducting inspections/audits to assure accountability of OM&S; interpreting policies, directives and procedures.
