Duties

You will determine which incoming correspondences, publications, regulations, and directives will affect the organization and take necessary action. You will elevate significant reports, files, and correspondence to the supervisor. You will systematically evaluate and improve correspondence operations for an extensive organization with varying functions performed in subordinate offices. You will establish control records on incoming correspondence and action documents, following up on work in-progress to ensure timely action. You will receive requests from other organizations within USMC for information concerning programs under the supervisor's control. You will assemble requested information from available background data or follow up to see that required answers are provided within the specified time. You will personally prepare administrative reports and compose correspondence. You will review documents requiring coordination by the supervisor for conformance with regulations, grammar, format, and special policies of the organization.

Requirements

  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Generally, current Federal employees applying to GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. All qualifications and pay band requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement and documented in your resume.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: reviewing documents/files/reports for conformance with organization/agency regulations, policies, and format; preparing administrative reports; and composing correspondences for varying scenarios.
