You will serve as a MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR in the R&D PROJECTS of SHOP SERVICES SECTION, CODE 3523.2 of NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY.

Duties

You will review work orders and assign/oversee the work of subordinates to ensure quality and adherence to regulations. You will detail project work progress and problems to upper management verbally or by written report. You will adjust schedules and redirect resources to fulfill the needs of various projects. You will interpret blueprints and prepare sketches for shop's work. You will requisition the tools and materials needed for a project. You will monitor work progress and ensure project deadlines are met. You will train subordinates on safe and proper work practices. You will maintain records of employees' time, job records, accident and injury reports, and various administrative documentation. You will perform and make recommendations on various personnel functions such as: employee performance ratings, promotions, demotions, and disciplinary actions. You will provide guidance and solutions to personnel and project problems.

Requirements

  • This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: supervising subordinate workers and perform emergency/service work, program maintenance and repair, construction projects and operate maintenance of facilities to complete mission/installation functions and goals.
