This position is located in the Support Services Department of the Phoenix Indian Medical Center. This position coordinates routine and complex travel and transportation services for employees and patients, including functioning as a Federal Agency Travel Administrator (FATA) for a complex healthcare facility. This position is located in Phoenix, Arizona.
Duties
Serves as FATA responsible for maintaining the federal agency electronic travel management system (e.g. CGE Concur travel) and providing travelers with the information required to prepare travel documents; make travel plans; and prepare reimbursement documents in an automated travel planning and reimbursement system.
Responsible for providing CGE Concur travel training, reviewing lines of accounting; and assisting employees with document preparation, problem solving and other issues.
Researches, coordinates and arranges transportation and travel services for patients, escorts, and employees in accordance with pertinent laws regulations and established procedures. Arranges for transportation of various items being sent from PIMC to various locations.
Coordinates employee and patient travel with the medical staff flight coordinator and assists in keeping the employee travel directory (PASS) current and updated. Works closely with the flight coordinator and various vendors and/or providers to schedule consultant flights to various field clinics and service units within and outside the Phoenix area by chartered air carriers and ground transportation.
Determines payment sources such as Medicare, AHCCCS, PRC, Third Party, etc. for patient transportation. Obtains demographic and third party coverage verification from individual medical records, social security, AHCCCS or other health care providers.
Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-07: At least one year equivalent to the GS-06 grade level: Making decisions concerning routine and emergency transportation of patients requiring special services; knowledge of Purchased Referred Care, AHCCCS, Medicare, Medicaid, Third Party and other sources of billing and eligibility requirements; scheduling maintenance of GSA vehicles; usage of electronic travel management systems; make transportation and lodging arrangements for employees on travel for work; serving as a Federal Agency Travel Administrator.
TYPING PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT: In addition to meeting experience or education requirements, applicants must provide evidence of their typing proficiency of 40 words per minute typing speed based on a 5-minute sample from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates. Certificates must not be over three (3) years old. This agency accepts self-certifications.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
