You will serve as a ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT REPAIRER in the Marine Depot maintenance Command of MCLC ALBANY GA.

Duties

You will assemble, repair, modify, replace and install electrical quickchange assembly components such as electrical cables and wiring harnesses associated with engine and transmission components and test the completed products. You will utilize a variety of test equipment such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, multi-meters, growlers, meggers, resistance bridges, analyzers and specialized test sets to test for shorts, continuity, defective wiring and connections. You will prepare diagrams, drawings, etc., which indicate and identify technological procedures. You will analyze and troubleshoot complex electrical circuits that include alarm circuits, safety shut-down circuits, protective overload circuits and other electrical control circuits. You will use power generators, machine shop vans, wiring of tracked and wheeled vehicles, small electrical accessories, laundry units and a large amount of complex electrical equipment.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment and annual physical examination.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

You must have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex tasks including testing, diagnosing, overhaul and modify a variety of complex electrical devices with electronic components that utilize transistorized solid state or vacuum tube circuitry.
