This position is located at Departmental Offices,Domestic Finance-Office of Financial Research. As a/an Public Affairs and Media Specialist, you will serve in a close and confidential capacity as a Public Affairs and Media Specialist to the OFR for matters pertaining to public affairs and social media.

Duties
As a/an Public Affairs and Media Specialist, you will:
Develop, implement, and execute an internal and external public affairs and social media communication strategy for the OFR.
Develop and implement a public affairs and social media program evaluation plan, in order to evaluate the program's efficiency and effectiveness for public affairs and social media.
Advise the Director of the OFR or his designee, and coordinates with the Treasury's Office of Legislative and Public Affairs Office on policy issues affecting major decisions regarding OFR.
Work to promote the brand and image of the OFR with other government agencies.
Serve as the Designated Federal Officer (DFO) to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA).
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the OR-60, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the OR-59 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Experience performing administrative, technical, communications, or project management work in order to plan and execute an organization's operations; AND
Experience developing, implementing, and executing an internal and external public affairs and social media communications strategy; AND
Experience advancing research issues and priorities of interest via press, official correspondence, social media platforms, and other online communication channels, as well as building templates, standards, tools, and social media guidelines; AND
Experience working to inspire, motivate, and guide others toward goals; coach, mentor, challenge and measure staff productivity; gain cooperation from others to obtain information and attain goals and metrics, build consensus and effectively execute change events.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. TIME-IN-GRADE: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the OR-60, you must have been at the OR-59 level for 52 weeks.
TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
