Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Telework may be authorized.
  • If authorized, PCS will be paid IAW JTR and AF Regulations. If receiving an authorized PCS, you may be subject to completing/signing a CONUS agreement. More information on PCS requirements, may be found at: https://afciviliancareers.com/regulatory/
  • The work requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
  • Locations are not negotiable. The actual duty locations available may be located on the Air Force Civilian Service website.
  • his is an Air Force Drug Testing Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent will be subject to random drug testing.

  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
  • Employee may be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include evenings and weekends and may be subject to recall.
  • Incumbent may be required to report to work during base exercises, contingencies, or emergency situations and overtime/comp time/credit hours may be required to accomplish assigned duties.
  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
  • Employee must meet Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements, which includes achieving Test and Evaluation “Practitioner” certification category within required timeframe after appointment.
  • This position also requires the employee to engage in acquisition continuous learning activities achieving 80 Continuous Learning points every 24 months.

Knowledge of a wide range of multidisciplinary professional engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts to project development, execution, and advisory services. 2. Knowledge of development engineering methodologies sufficient to apply experimental theories and/or new applications to issues and provide technical advice and direction in support of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment. 3. Knowledge of systems engineering practices and procedures as they pertain to sustainment, modification, logistics, and production management principles, concepts, policies, and systems. 4. Knowledge of the principles of planning and program management; of standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures; and of other engineering disciplines used in support of sustainment, modification, and maintenance programs. 5. Ability to devise and evaluate criteria, parameters, characteristics, and interrelationships for design approaches; to assess the impact of new technology on current systems and processes; and to gather, assemble, and analyze facts, form conclusions, and devise and recommend solutions to problems.
