As a Single Family Housing Specialist, you will:
Provide technical assistance and advice to the Single Family Homeownership Centers on matters concerning risk management and monitoring of program participants.
Serve as technical expert on established policies and procedures for monitoring lender/servicer performance.
Represent the Division in meetings and conferences with other government agencies and industry representatives regarding the monitoring of program participants.
Recommend positions on policy and procedural changes proposed by the industry.
Participate in occasional on-site reviews of FHA-approved lenders/servicers to determine compliance with FHA requirements.
Recommend actions to correct lender deficiencies referred or reported to Headquarters; follow-up to assure that appropriate corrective action is taken.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized experience for the GS-14 grade level is one year of experience at the GS-13 level, or equivalent that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes:
Experience with all rules and regulations governing the mortgage servicing industry; AND
Experience utilizing practices and procedures common to the mortgage servicing industry; AND
Experience conducting studies and leading projects in support of program planning, development, and evaluation; AND
Experience leading compliance reviews of mortgage servicing institutions.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14 you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
