As the Supervisory Grants Management Specialist, the incumbent serves as the NIMH Deputy Chief Grants Management officer who will be responsible for overseeing and managing the technical and business activities of Grants Management Branch (GMB) that are directed through three Grants Management Team Leaders and 26 Grants Management Specialists.
Duties
As the Supervisory Grants Management Specialist within GMB, duties will include but not limited to:
Oversee the planning, reviewing, negotiating, awarding, monitoring and managing of grants and cooperative agreements.
Supervise a team of Grants Management Specialists, providing technical and administrative direction, as well as mentoring and training.
Serve as a subject-matter-expert on individual grants during federal audits and other reviews of individual grants or grant programs.
Evaluate and monitor the business management capability and performance of applicant organization and grantees, and the internal operating procedures associated with the business management aspects of the grant process.
Represent the Institute on various meetings within the grants community.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

Qualifications
You qualify at the GS-14 level, if you meet the following qualification requirement:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: managing grants management activities for an organization, including pre- award and post-award activities; developing, interpreting, and providing guidance on grants regulations, policies, procedures, and techniques; coordinating grantsand awards planning and policy functions with other staff and organizations; and providing supervision and direction to other staff.
You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.
