You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK) in the Information Services at Commander Navy
Region Northwest (CNRNW) of COMMANDER, NAVY REGION NORTHWEST.
Duties
You will attend planning meetings to provide input into the development of communications projects.
You will work with Regional Network and Base Communications Leads in managing base communications projects.
You will monitor and maintain Non-NMCI (NN) network architecture/infrastructure.
You will diagnose and resolve network problems.
You will install, test, maintain, and upgrade network operating system software.
You will configure and optimize network servers, hubs, routers, switches
You will serve as a technical POC to help resolve customer issues with N63 services.

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 44 level Intermediate within 12 months of appointment.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing and coordinating the Information Technology (IT) system's compliance within DOD information system policies; 2) Managing the movement and installation of IT equipment, configuring devices and software applications following established procedures; 3) Researching various IT equipment, software, efficiency methodologies and cost analysis to make recommendations and request procurement of IT related equipment; 4) Providing support in account creation, set up and management, client connectivity for various devices and applications; and 5) Utilizing various databased and systems to coordinate, submit, follow up and track all trouble tickets for various computer problems to include equipment, network and server errors.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
