You will serve as a Program Operations Support Assistant (OA) of TRAWING FIVE.

Duties

You will gather information for drafting correspondence and review and make necessary revisions to prepared naval and business correspondence in accordance with established instructions. You will maintain an up-to-date electronic library of administrative files. You will provide management with administrative support for audits, inventories, meetings, investigations, mishaps, incidents, and other related functions. You will utilize a variety of software and database programs in day-to-day support. You will create, review, and generate travel authorization orders for the command utilizing the Defense Travel System (DTS). You will review travel vouchers to ensure the accuracy of submissions as required by governing instructions. You will initiate, review, submit and track all personnel security requests for military and contract personnel through the Electronic Questionnaire for Investigations Processing (e-QIP) system. You will maintain files for status of pending investigations, current status of members and periodic reinvestigations for secret and top-secret clearance, in conjunction with maintaining files in accordance with applicable regulations.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination. For the GS-05 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing administrative support duties for an organization (e.g., data input, customer service, data gathering, preparing reports, correspondence, maintaining files, and monitoring training schedules/progress) and using automated systems to accurately document and maintain records and/or materials. For the GS-04 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of general experience in federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

For the GS-05
Successful completion of 4 academic years above high school leading to a bachelor's degree;
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.

For the GS-04
Successful completion of at least 2 academic years above high school;
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
