You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the FLEET TECHNICAL SUPPORT DIVISION within the UNDERSEA SYSTEM & SUSTAINMENT ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA in Ford Island, Hawaii. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-4 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-11 and GS-12.

Duties

You will serve as a subject matter expert for Submarine Common Submarine Radio Room (CSRR) and Submarine External Communications Systems (ECS). You will provide inputs and reports to leadership regarding maintenance plans and efforts and provide briefs to senior level command staff. You will respond to casualty reports and determine corrective actions. You will assist and train personnel in maintenance and corrective actions. You will apply knowledge of electronic theory and concepts to assist in preparation and conduct of tests involving observation of operating instruments/equipment.

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band NT-03 (GS-9 and GS-10 equivalency) in the Federal service, or in the public or private sector performing tests and maintenance on instruments and equipment on Common Submarine Radio Room and External Communications Systems.
