Duties
As a/an Deputy Director Quality Assurance Division, you will:
Exercise full managerial authority in assisting the Director in the planning and execution of assigned program operations and functions.
Provide technical assistance and advice to the Single Family Homeownership Centers on matters concerning risk management and monitoring of program participants.
Prepare bulletins highlighting notable trends for management in Headquarters and the Homeownership Centers.
Represent the Division in meetings and conferences with other government agencies and industry representatives regarding the monitoring of program participants
Assess risk management implications of proposed policy underwriting changes (amendments to statutes, regulations, handbooks, etc.)
Participate in occasional on-site reviews of FHA-approved lenders/servicers to assess the activities of out-stationed monitors.
Recommend actions to correct lender deficiencies referred or reported to Headquarters and follow-up to assure that appropriate corrective action is taken.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-14 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
supervising or directing a staff in at least THREE of the following areas for an organization in the mortgage industry or a mortgage-related regulatory agency:
quality control
compliance
counterparty evaluation
mortgage underwriting
mortgage servicing
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14 you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
