Duties
You will classify and protect classified national defense and other sensitive information originated or controlled by federal agencies.
You will conduct investigative and clearance verification checks via Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DSCA) Consolidated Adjudication Services (CAS) Portal for system access.
You will prepare all Electronic Questionnaires for investigations Processing (e-QIP) submissions for personnel security investigations.
You will protect sensitive or classified information, personnel, facilities, installations or other sensitive materials, resources, or processes against criminal, terrorist or hostile intelligence activities.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Qualifications
Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by:
*Experience initiating initial investigations, clearances, periodic re-investigations, and clearance upgrades/downgrades, suspension, revocations, terminations, and reinstatements to complete the adjudication, and appeals processes.
*Experience analyzing and reporting on clearance and appeals findings to senior security officials.
*Experience reviewing classified contracts to identify the level and kind of work to be performed in the facility and extent of security protection required for the programs involved.
*Experience assisting classifying, marking, redacting, handling, transporting, and safeguarding protected information and/or classified information and operating Intrusion Detection Systems and devices.
*Experience conducting inspections/investigations, preparing physical security surveys to manage a physical security program, and implementing policies and procedures required to manage sensitive compartmented information (SCI) programs and to protect SCI resources.

Education
Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree;
or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree;
or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
