Duties
Receive patient calls for room service and communicating and coordinating meal requests, providing different therapeutic diet order assistance to patients requesting meals.
Notify the patient care staff to alert the staff when a diet order is required. Once the diet order is entered into CRIS, the incumbent shall assist the patient with meal selections.
Enter menus for the following days meal service; verifies that all menus have been received for patient's currently in-house.
Generate reports and printouts for distribution to various sections of the department to direct food ordering, production, and assembly functions.
Communicate and verifies all tube feeding requests with the clinical health technicians.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

- This position requires: weekends, holiday hours, on call shifts, and rotational shifts

Qualifications
In order to qualify for the Health Technician (Call Center), GS-0640-6;
You must have 1 year of experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of tasks: coordinating diet related orders from admission to discharge on patients who receive meals; communicate with staff and patients regarding patient requests, diet questions and menu selections; evaluate menu choices for diet order compliance and nutritional limits; use a database system to enter and print meal selections, generate reports, record nutrition information and record any discrepancy with nutrition-related data.
