This position is part of the WAPA Headquarters. As a Tribal Affairs Liaison, you will be serving as the Tribal Program Manager, responsible for Tribal relationships WAPA-wide and in the Colorado River Storage Project and Desert Southwest Tribal programs. This is not a remote position. The selectee will be required to be physically present at one of the duty locations identified.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level [GS-13] in the Federal service. At the GS-14 level, you must meet ALL the following specialized experience requirements: Experience in a wide range of concepts, treaties, executive orders, laws, policies, principles, regulations and precedents regarding implementing tribal government-to-government consultation and how they affect Tribes and other customers. Possessing knowledge of Reclamation law and experience in policy-setting processes in both electric utility and environmental arenas. Providing advice, counsel and guidance to executives, management and staff on all issues associated with relations with Tribal, Federal, state and stakeholder entities. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-in-Grade: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent by the closing date of this announcement to receive consideration.
