THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC (TITLE 32), Position Description Number NGD2431000 and is part of the TN 164th AW, Air National Guard.
This vacancy is covered by Association of Civilian Technicians (ACT), Chapter 115 (Pyramid on the River Chapter).
Duties
As a HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC, WG-5803-10 (TILTE 32) you will, repair, adjust, overhaul, perform major repairs, and maintenance on military and commercial designed heavy mobile equipment and special purpose vehicles. Perform body repair and corrosion control, refinishes and repaints surfaces as required. Prepare, maintain and submit applicable maintenance work orders for man-hour and data collection accounting, to include completing forms to reflect work performed or delayed and parts and maintenance required. Participate as OJT Instructor in the vehicle maintenance area. Assist in conducting the local occupational safety and health training program, to includecompliance with directives and procedures for proper disposal of hazardous waste products withinthe functional area. Perform other duties as assigned.

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

- Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.

Qualifications
Military Grades: E-3 through E-7
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training that provides skills to make repairs or the ability to assist with repairs that can be accomplished by removing adjusting or replacing defective or worn parts.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 24 months experience or 1 year at the next lower-level experience or training leading to a knowledge of the mechanical makeup, operation, and working relationships of complex systems, assemblies, and parts for a verity of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment. Ability to diagnose, repair, overhaul, and modify a verity of combat, tactical commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment. Knowledge of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pnumatic, and other non-mechanical systems that have a functional relationship and effect on the operation of mechanical systems. Knowledge of hydridic lifting, loading turning, and positioning systems and their mechanical, hydraulic. Pnumatic, electrical, and electronic controls. Knowledge of electronic circuit boards. Ability to repair or overhaul major components such as diesel, multi-fuel pr gasoline engines, turbine engines, automatic and manual transmissions, drive line assemblies, electrical and electronic systems and accessories, fuel injection systems and emission control systems.
