About the Position: This is a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (Application Software) position located within the Human Resources Command, Enterprise Modernization Directorate (EMoD), Fort Knox KY.

Duties

Personnel Management in order to Set Priorities, Motivate, and Coordinate Personnel Resources in Order to Accomplish Mission Systems Management, Optimization, and Security Compliance for Infrastructure Services Coordinate and Manage All Assigned Project Efforts Manage and Set Strategic Goals for Team; Build and Maintain Collaboration With Other Teams Effective Oral Communication; Represents Team, Branch and Organization

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance and access.
  • Must possess and maintain IA certifications baseline and computing environment incumbent to their position within six months IAW DoD Directive 8570.1-M, AR 25-2 and the Information Assurance Training and Certification Best Business Practice (BBP).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain CompTIA Security+ and Computing Environment Certifications within 6 months of hire.
  • This position requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station (25%).
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08).
  • This position requires a one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: Your resume must describe at least one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes work that involves serving as a Senior Information Technology Specialist (Applications Software) with extensive technical skill set with Linux Operating systems. Possess experience and expertise executing critical Applications Software (APPSW) support and administration functions to include development and enforcement of systems management processes and standards; development unit testing; software process evaluation; release management; application system performance analysis; product and process metrics development, collection and analysis; as well as casual analysis and process improvement for development and maintenance of all military personnel application systems and infrastructure. Possess experience and proficiency directing or assisting with planning, coordinating, scheduling and executing any future systems enhancements or upgrades. Possess experience performing highly complex analysis, design, development and unit testing of software applications from user requirements and design documents. Possess experience and proficiency resolving defects encountered during various testing cycles, ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices to the delivery of application software services. Possess experience and expertise evaluating and providing guidance to project team members on the analysis, design, development, programming and testing and/or evaluation of systems or segments of systems.
