About the Position: Serves as System Technical Representative (STR) within the Integrated Logistics Support Center (ILSC), Logistics Assistance Directorate with responsibility for advising and instructing users of general, specialized and sensitive medical systems and equipment for which Army Medical Logistics Command (AMLC) is logistically responsible.
Duties
Provide advice and assistance to field commanders, maintenance officers, maintenance technicians, and combat support personnel with maintenance advice, assistance, and training for the operation and maintenance of military materiel managed by AMLC Lifecycle Management Command (LCMC).
Plans and conducts training to provide assigned LARs and other military and civilian personnel with information, guidance, and instruction on maintenance procedures for complex, recently fielded, or experimental medical equipment systems and components.
Identifies problems in design of equipment and recommends design changes, e.g., use of a substitute part that the incumbent has tested which exceeds the performance of the original.
Requirements
- One-year probationary period may be required.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Secret Security Clearance is required.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This is an EMERGENCY ESSENTIAL (E-E) and Mobility Program position subject to deployment.
- Immunization screening is required. If required, the employee will receive a series of anthrax vaccine immunizations to include annual boosters.
- The employee may be required to deploy to, and remain in, hostile zones during crisis situations or mobilization, which may require flying in military aircraft.
- The employee will be required to live under field conditions similar to field-grade officers, in tents consuming field rations such as Meals Ready to Eat (MRE)
- Single parents or families, where both parents are EE, are required to prepare and present their supervisor an approved family care plan.
- The employee may be on-call, work irregular hours, accompany the assigned unit during technical and training field exercises,
- The employee is required to sign the most current mobility agreement, AMC Form 2884-R, IAW AMC-R 700-19
- This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
- The employee may be required to draw and wear protective clothing (current uniform required for wear by DA Civilians specific to operation or as directed by the Command
- A valid driver’s license is required to obtain a military and /or international driver’s license when participating in field exercises, deployments, or assigned to a foreign duty station.
- The employee must meet current physical and functional requirements IAW AMC 700-19 and the most current MOD to USCENTCOM Individual Protection and Individual -Unit Deployment Policy
- The employee is responsible for ensuring no medical, dental, vision, or other health-related restrictions could prevent a deployment

Specialized Experience is defined as; One year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent pay band level in the Federal Service performing the following duties;
1.Develop systemic strageties in support of remeding medical logistic gaps for units in the operating force;
2. Identifying trends in maintenance problems and solutions; AND
3. Analyzing problems in medical equipment that is highly technical and complex in nature.
