About the Position: Serve as an Interdisciplinary (Levee Safety Program Manager) with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Great Lakes and Ohio River Division.
Position may be filled as a temporary promotion NTE 9 months and may be extended up to a maximum of 5 years or made permanent without further competition.
Position will be filled in one of the seven LRD District locations. Situational telework as determine by agency policy.
Duties
Serve as LRD Senior Regional subject matter expert, and technical advisor for all engineering/scientific aspects of the Civil Works Program throughout the Division.
Provide technical expertise for design, construction, and rehabilitation of projects that include navigation, locks, dams, canals, flood control, water supply, bridges, levees, environmental restoration, and recreation facilities.
Serve as an expert in national forums on the engineering/scientific aspects of Civil Works projects, which requires the analysis of a broad base of scientific and technical information to develop sound professional products and services.
Provide strategic direction of future impacts on engineering organizations and structures based on new program requirements, new and innovative technologies and facility acquisition methods for enhancing corporate success.
Formulate and issue technical policies to districts regarding the overall Civil Works programs as well as policies associated with their professional series to ensure that sound design documents are prepared in a timely manner.

- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Professional registration/license required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes advising on engineering and scientific aspects of Civil Works projects; providing strategic direction of future impacts on engineering organizations and structures; and assist in developing quality control plans for civil works projects.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
