You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the SPECIAL STAFF of MARINE CORPS LOGISTICS BASE.
Duties
You will review photographs and artwork for quality and composition and select the most newsworthy for inclusion in the installation's newspaper.
You will reviews page layouts for weekly editions of the paper assuring that copy is prepared properly for type of composition required by the printer in use.
You will interview and confer with program specialists to obtain latest information for use in news articles, videos.
You will assist field personnel in preparing for media coverage of a special event in local area by arranging for advance preparation and direct contact with
media representatives.
You will brief internal and external audience on organization's programs and activities and their impact on various public and private activities.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing information to employees about departmental, facility and community activities and news to include preparing and disseminating news feature articles for base publication and providing information in the form of media releases to the printed media as appropriate; also selecting photographs to accompany articles and releases.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify for the position based on education. Education obtained must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. To qualify based on education, applicant must possess:
master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
