The Program Support Assistant works under the general supervision of the My HealtheVet Coordinator or Chief of Staff and assists in providing critical, timely and effective communication in support of the Department of Veterans Affairs on-line Personal Health Record, My HealtheVet (MHV) Social Networking Media and Secure Messaging (SM) components.

Duties

Duties may include but are not limited to: Collects, develops, and documents data for facility operational decisions. Initiates telephonic contact with Veterans for program enrollment. Assists with the development and implementation of multi-media marketing campaign materials. Coordinates and obtains clearances for release information. Provides training to volunteers and patients to promote awareness of and participation in My HealtheVet, VA Blue Button, and Secure Messaging. Functions as a liaison to identify and communicate local related training needs. Assists in the panning, reviewing, and reporting or results rom program studies. Implementing of nationally standardized protocols for incoming data, organizes and maintains data, and retrieves a variety of computerized data. Operates web-based for program and other databases for VISN office. Operates equipment to assist in troubleshooting problems for patients and staff, answering questions and supporting the telehealth team. Gives oral presentations with handouts and visual materials to encourage utilization o the service and anticipated benefits. Establishes and maintains inventory of all assigned computer and My HealtheVet equipment including purchased and leased equipment. Serves as a consultant for all aspects of facility My HealtheVet use, including facilitating staff training, pilot testing and implementing and installing equipment, and multi-site coordination and problem resolution. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 11/03/2023. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Using automated data processing applications, such as desktop publishing and graphics; Analyzing a variety of research reports, studies, fact sheets, and other documents and translate from analytical to commonly understood language; Organizing and communicating ideas and thoughts effectively through written correspondence and oral presentation; Editing web pages and creating links and using social networking technology; and Developing, refining, maintaining and documenting policies and procedures. (This experience must be supported by your resume to be creditable). You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: Team Work Interpersonal Skills Administration and Management Accountability Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, but may require periods of standing during presentations, briefings, speeches, health fair activities, etc., although some slight physical effort may be required. Work Environment: Work is performed in an office setting with adequate, lighted and climate controlled office.
