Duties

You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (SYSTEM ANALYSIS/CUSTOMER SUPPORT) in the Navy DoD Supercomputing Resource Center (0TC), COMNAVMETOCCOM, US Fleet Forces Command, STENNIS SPACE CENTER, MS. You will apply parallel computing concepts utilizing libraries such as Message Passing Interface (MPI) and OpenMP You will apply concepts of virtualization and software containers and application of machine learning and artificial intelligence principles and practices. You will employ analytical methods to identify annual/long-range requirements and solve problems in the areas of Information Technology, Hardware/Software Maintenance, High Performance Computing, Data Storage, and IT System Usability and Procurement. You will Prepares and submits technical plans and requirements in the form of Plans of Action and Milestones (POA/M) to improve Center performance and system usability. You will represent the team consensus and convey the team’s findings and recommendations in meetings and dealings with other team leaders, program officials, the public and other customers. You will support a high performance computing user community.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Manages and configures network services. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Provides support to the end user by diagnosing and solving a variety of computer and system problems. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Provides advice and guidance to managers and customers. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Applies methods and practices for troubleshooting, recovering, modifying, and improving systems to solve complex problem In addition to experience demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Experience applying new and emerging supercomputing and petascale data storage technologies and industry trends in order to participate in the evaluation of proposals for the acquisition of advanced HPC products or services. Experience applying advanced supercomputing principles, concepts, methods, standards and practices. Experience applying file system management concepts, principles, and methods including file system logical and physical design, storage capacity management, and system backup and recovery sufficient to monitor petascale file system. Experience applying various programming languages, including but not limited to, FORTRAN, C, C++, Python, and shell scripting; applying parallel computing concepts utilizing libraries such as Message Passing Interface (MPI) and OpenMP Experience directing team members, as Team Lead of Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) or similar cross-functional teams, in the establishment of goals, objectives and work priorities in order to solve problems in the areas of Supercomputing, Information Technology, Hardware and Software Maintenance, High Performance, Computing Data Storage, and IT System Usability and Procurement Experiencing and preparing and presenting briefings to senior management officials on complex and/or controversial issues. Experience preparing reports and maintaining records of work accomplishments/administrative information. Experience sufficient to represent the team consensus and convey the team's findings and recommendations in meetings and dealings with other team leaders, program officials, the public and other customers.
