The purpose of the position is to assist Public Health Nursing professionals in providing public health nursing services to individuals, families and communities within the Service Unit with a variety of task involving direct patient care of education and case management, program marketing, and quality management and controls. This position is located in Public Health Nursing Department, Four Corners Regional Health Center, in Red Mesa, AZ. Shiprock Service Unit.
Duties
Assess client and/or family health needs for case staffing with public health professionals.
Conducts patient/client visits in the home or at community facilities to meet program guidelines.
Provide Health education/promotion interventions.
Assist with program planning, management, evaluation and reporting of community led public health and development projects.
Participate in quality monitoring of performance improvement activities for planning, data collecting and reporting.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-05: to qualify candidate must have completed 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level.
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-4 level obtained in either the public or private sector. Example of specialized experience: measure height and weight, vital signs, screening and waived testing to determine health status; carries out assignments on a wide variety of program tasks and other programs; takes meeting minutes, makes corrections and posts; etc.
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree, with major study or at least 24 semester hours in subjects directly related to the position.
A combination of education and specialized experience listed above. One year of education is equivalent to 30 semester hours such education must include courses directly related to the work of the position - transcripts are required.
GS-06: to qualify candidate must have completed 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level.
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 level obtained in either the public or private sector. Example of specialized experience: provide health education/promotion interventions to individuals, conduct home visits, assist with program planning, participate in quality monitoring of performance improvement activities for planning, data collecting and reporting, etc.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
