DCSA's Vetting Risk Operations Office (VRO) is looking for recent college students, Personnel Security Specialists, government employees, and military personnel to help us conduct routine, standardized assignments in support of Continuous Evaluation Operations. As a Personnel Security Specialist, you will support the review, validation and coordination of alerts generated by the DoD Continuous Evaluation program in support of multiple stakeholders. Duties

As a PERSONNEL SECURITY SPECIALIST you will be responsible for the following duties: The incumbent performs routine, standardized assignments in support of Continuous Evaluation Operations. The incumbent participates in the review, validation and coordination of alerts generated by the DoD Continuous Evaluation program. Utilizes supporting systems to receive alert information, conduct identity resolution, determine if alerts meet established business rule criteria and coordinates adjudicative-relevant and actionable alert information with the DCSA Consolidated Adjudications Services (CAS) and Component security officials. Reviews personnel security questionnaires that contain issues concerning national security to include: Allegiance issues; Foreign Influence and Preference issues; Sexual misconduct; Personal Conduct; Criminal Conduct; Alcoholism; Drug Involvement; Financial Irresponsibility; Mental Disorders; and/or Misuse of Information Technology Systems. The incumbent assists higher-level personnel who are performing Continuous evaluation and Personnel Security projects in order to develop competence and expertise. Assignments will progress in difficulty as experience is gained. Receives formal on-the-job training as well as developmental assignments. Periodically rotates the assignments to develop an understanding of the overall Continuous Evaluation and Personnel Security function. Participates in research, review, and analysis of existing policies and other sources of information leading to the development of new and revised industrial security requirements. Prepares correspondence on Continuous Evaluation and Personnel Security matters. Perform other duties as assigned

  • Incumbent is required to attain the Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within two (2) years of entry on duty. Certification must be maintained in accordance with program rules.

Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: For the GG-07: You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade (GS/GG-05) in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for the GG-07 position includes: Knowledge of related day to day and in-depth analysis and evaluation of Continuous Evaluation (CE) alerts. Assists with technical guidance, and interpreting policy in all aspects of CE/Continuous Vetting (CV). Serving as an additional source of information relating to the CE/CV program and provides upper echelon officials with guidance concerning applicable data sources and references relating to general and specific policies, procedures, court decision and peripheral programs impacting the personnel security and CE/CV mission OR a Conferred Bachelor's degree (or equivalent). For the GG-09: You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade (GS/GG-07) in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for the GG-09 position includes: Providing expertise related to the day to day and in-depth analysis and evaluation of Continuous Evaluation (CE) alerts. Providing technical guidance, and interpreting policy in all aspects of CE/Continuous Vetting (CV). Serving as an authoritative source of information relating to the CE/CV program and provides upper echelon officials with guidance concerning applicable data sources and references relating to general and specific policies, procedures, court decision and peripheral programs impacting the personnel security and CE/CV mission OR have a Master's or equivalent degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such as degree or LL.B. or J.D. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: 1. Education

If substituting education for experience, at the GG-07 level, you must possess a bachelor's or equivalent degree. For the GG-09 level, a Master's or equivalent degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such as degree or LL.B. or J.D.

Superior Academic Achievement does not apply to DCIPS positions.
