This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Serves as a Project Manager responsible for managing assigned projects from planning to completion. As Project Manager, integrates all the processes and functions involved in the project, including planning, engineering, design, construction, and other technical functions.
Duties
Leads the activities of interdisciplinary project delivery teams to coordinate project objectives and develop approaches and solutions for accomplishing overall project execution.
Monitors preparation and review a variety of technical project materials prepared by other district elements, such as design documentation reports, plans and specifications, post authorization changes, for adequacy in meeting policies.
Prepares periodic reports, including fact sheets and/or briefings to keep key officials abreast of the progress of the assigned projects.
Responsible for preparation of project schedules, including network analysis schedules for assigned projects.
Responsible for project planning and programming, and monitoring of the overall execution thereof, in conjunction with the coordination and technical management of assigned civil works projects, from planning stages through completion.
Serve as primary point of contact with external entities affected by the project.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position may be subject to a one-year probationary period.
- Temporary travel (TDY) up to approximately 15% of the time may be required.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
