About the Position: The Marketing Specialist is responsible for the development and execution of new business opportunities in public private partnerships and plans, directs, and evaluates comprehensive marketing campaigns.
Duties
Plan, direct, and evaluate comprehensive marketing and partnership campaigns and projects.
Initiate and/or conduct complex research/analysis to identify potential marketing opportunities.
Recommend implementation of strategic planning enhancements.
Provide staff oversight for the execution of plans and policy relating to marketing, partnerships, and policy guidance.
Research, collect, analyze, select, and combine information from a variety of sources to develop coherent articles, news releases and public affairs materials in support of the organization’s mission and goals.
Write and edit press releases, news, and feature articles for both internal and external publications.
Proof written materials produced in the office to assure accuracy, spelling, grammar, and style.
Attend various meetings, on behalf of the Public Affairs Officer (PAO), and answer public/media queries via email or phone.
Serve as a Point of Contact (POC) for customers and potential customers as well as an advisor to directors and the Command group for direct sales initiatives.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine suitability for Federal employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% or less of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes: compiling and analyzing a variety of data to determine and provide strategic business plan recommendations; developing policies, procedures, and initiatives in support of development, marketing, modernization, transformation within the Army's Organic Industrial Base (OIB); coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and professionally representing an organization via oral and written communication.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
