The incumbent works in the Primary Care Service and works under the Administrative Officer providing program support for the Primary Care Services Leadership Team. Primary Care Service includes over 375 full time, part time, fee-basis, and intermittent personnel ranging from clinical staff (physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, health coaches, and social workers) to administrative staff (medical support assistants, etc.).
Duties
Major duties include, but are not limited to the following:
The incumbent will serve as the Program Support Assistant to the Primary Care Leadership Team. Duties are varied, non-routine, and consist of handling data and coordination for program operations. Will serve as a point of contact for patients, medical center staff, VISN staff, community agencies, and various others who contact this office. He/she will also assist with any future, proposals/projects that are implemented.
The incumbent will attain and maintain computer skills on a variety of software programs, e.g., word processing, file management, VistA program, EXCEL spreadsheets, etc. and communication tools such as MS Outlook. Will accurately collect, enter and manage data in a timely fashion. Will act as consultant to program team members regarding administrative matters. Incumbent will operate web-based software as well as other databases. Must attain basic competencies in operation of the office equipment to assist in troubleshooting problems, answering questions, and supporting the program.
Work Schedule: M-F. 8:00am-4:30pm

GS-06 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: Ability to analyze and solve problems in a positive, goal-oriented manner and to make clear, well-defined recommendations. Knowledge of basic financial procedures and processes, and the ability to track a wide variety of program expenses. (This experience must be well documented in your resume.)
There is no educational substitution for the GS-06 level.
